🕌 Hassan II Mosque🏛️ Chellah & Kasbah des Oudaias🌆 Rabat🔵 Chefchaouen

Pickup from Casablanca airport by your driver-guide. Start at the Hassan II Mosque — its 690-foot minaret is the world's tallest, and it's one of the few Moroccan mosques open to non-Muslims. Interiors as breathtaking as the Atlantic views outside.

Continue north to Rabat, Morocco's capital. Wander the Chellah Necropolis (a layered tapestry of Roman and Islamic ruins), pass through Bab Oudaia and the 12th-century Kasbah des Oudaias, and see the Hassan Tower and Mausoleum of Mohamed V.

As evening approaches, drive up into the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen — the sky-blue town whose name means "two horns" after the peaks above. Sunset mint tea in Plaza Uta el-Hammam, dinner and overnight at a local riad.

🏛️ Volubilis (UNESCO)🌆 Meknes imperial city🌇 Merenid Tombs sunset

Depart Chefchaouen for a day of history. First stop: Volubilis, a stunningly preserved Roman city from the 3rd century BCE. Walk among the columns, mosaics and public baths of what was once Rome's remote southern outpost.

Continue to Meknes, an imperial city with a calmer soul than Fes — real Moroccan hospitality in the souks, the imposing Bab al-Mansour gate, and the elegant Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.

Arrive in Fes late afternoon. Drive up to the Merenid Tombs for a panoramic view timed with the sunset call to prayer echoing across the medina below — a highlight of any 7 day Morocco tour. Dinner and overnight at a riad in Fes.

🚪 Bab Boujeloud (blue gate)🎨 Chouara Tannery🎓 Al-Qarawiyyin — world's oldest university🍳 Optional cooking class

Today you dive deep into Fes el Bali — the oldest imperial city in Morocco and the most complete medieval city in the Arab world, virtually unchanged for a millennium. With your local Fes guide, walk in through the iconic blue gate at Bab Boujeloud and onto Talâa Kebira, the main artery of the medina.

Visit the Chouara Tannery, where stone pots of natural dyes and traditions unchanged for centuries. Climb a nearby leather shop's rooftop for the classic view. Continue to the 14th-century Al Attarine Madrasa, a jewel of zellij tilework, and the nearby Al-Qarawiyyin University — the world's oldest continuously operating university, founded in 859 AD.

Optional: add a Moroccan cooking class in the afternoon. Otherwise wander the souks, sink into a hammam, and dine on a rooftop overlooking the medina at night.

🌲 Ifrane · Middle Atlas cedars🦴 Erfoud fossils🐫 Erg Chebbi camel trek⛺ Desert bivouac

An early breakfast in Fes, then south through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas — you may spot Barbary macaques near Ifrane. Continue via the pre-Saharan town of Erfoud, famous for its black fossil marble; stop at a local workshop to see the fossil-cutting.

Arrive at the edge of the desert at Merzouga as the light turns gold. Check in at a desert inn, then mount your camel for an unforgettable trek deep into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Dinner prepared over an open fire at your private desert camp, music around the fire, sleep under a Milky Way of stars.

🌅 Sunrise over the dunes🛍️ Rissani market🧗 Todra Gorge🏰 Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs

Sunrise over the Erg Chebbi from your camp, breakfast and hot shower back at the desert inn. Depart west and stop at Rissani — a historic market town where the ruling Alawite dynasty was founded — for the busy weekly souk.

Continue to the dramatic red walls of the Todra Gorge, one of Morocco's deepest canyons, and lunch beneath the cliffs. Drive on through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, past ochre-red fortified villages, to arrive in Ouarzazate — Morocco's "Hollywood" — late afternoon.

🏰 Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO)🎬 Gladiator · Game of Thrones location🏔️ Tizi n'Tichka Pass🌆 Marrakech

Morning at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Morocco's most photogenic earthen ksar. Backdrop for Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. Walk the labyrinth of mud-brick alleys with your guide.

Cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka Pass — panoramic mountain views the whole way — arriving in Marrakech mid-afternoon. Check in at your riad in the medina. Free evening to shop, hammam, or dine on a rooftop overlooking the Koutoubia minaret.

🎓 Ben Youssef Madrasa🕌 Koutoubia Mosque🛍️ Souks📸 Jemaa el-Fna

Meet your local Marrakech guide for a half-day walking tour of the Red City. See the exquisite zellij and stucco of the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the towering Koutoubia Mosque minaret, and the layered souks of the medina — spices, leather, textiles, brass and lanterns.

End at Jemaa el-Fna square as the food stalls light up. Free afternoon to explore at your own pace. Airport drop-off whenever your onward flight leaves.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this a private tour or a group tour?

100% private. Every departure is just for you and your group — your driver-guide, your 4WD, your pace. No strangers, no fixed dates. You pick the days you want to travel.

How much does the 7 day Morocco tour cost?

Prices start from about $890 per person, based on 4 travellers sharing mid-range riads in low season. Solo, couple, family and luxury pricing quoted on request within 24 hours.

When is the best time to travel to Morocco?

March–May and September–November are ideal — warm days, cool nights, comfortable in the cities, mountains and Sahara. Winter (Dec–Feb) is dramatic and quieter but cold at night in Merzouga. Summer (Jun–Aug) is intense in the desert — we plan around it.

Do we start in Casablanca or Marrakech?

This itinerary starts in Casablanca and ends in Marrakech — a one-way route so you don't retrace steps. If you prefer to start in Marrakech we'll reverse the route or design a loop, no problem.

Is the Sahara desert camp safe and comfortable?

Yes. Our camps have real beds, private tents, hot showers on the standard tier, and luxury upgrades available. All camps are staffed overnight and reachable by 4WD.

Can we customise the 7 day itinerary?

Absolutely. This route is a starting point, not a contract. Add a night in the desert, swap Volubilis for Essaouira, upgrade to boutique riads, add a hot-air balloon in Marrakech, or extend to 10 days — just tell us what you'd love.

How do we book — and how much is the deposit?

Message us on WhatsApp or fill the quick form on this page. We reply within 24 hours with your full itinerary and price. Once you're happy, a 30% deposit secures your dates. The balance is paid on arrival in cash or card.

Have more time?

Want to see more of Morocco?

If you can spare a few more days, our 10 Day Morocco Tour: Berber Trails Itinerary extends this route with the Dades Gorges, the Draa Valley and the Atlantic coast at Essaouira. Or for a quicker Sahara escape, see our 4 Day Morocco Desert Tour — same private team, same standards.

Ready to book your 7 day Morocco tour?
