Morocco Honeymoon Tour: Best 7 Day Romantic Itinerary
Seven days made for two — a rose-petal riad welcome in Marrakech, the UNESCO kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, two unhurried nights in a private luxury Sahara camp, a couples' hammam, and candlelit dinners from rooftop to desert. Your own car, your own driver-guide, your own pace.
Why our Morocco honeymoon tour is different
Planning the perfect Morocco honeymoon tour? This 7-day private itinerary was designed by our Marrakech-based team for one purpose only: seven unhurried, romantic days that belong entirely to the two of you. No group bus, no strangers, no rushing — your own driver-guide, your own car, and a route built around golden-hour moments.
The heart of the trip is something almost no standard tour offers: two full nights in a private luxury Sahara camp at Merzouga. Instead of the usual one-night dash, you get a slow desert day — sunrise from your tent, a 4×4 dunes adventure, a swim, and a second evening of firelight and Berber music under a sky packed with stars.
Around the desert, the classics are arranged for romance: a rose-petal riad welcome and private rooftop dinner in Marrakech, the UNESCO ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, the canyons of Todra and Dades, and a final Marrakech day of couples' hammam, a sunset carriage ride through the Palmeraie, and a farewell dinner in a hidden garden.
Every honeymoon we run is tailored — proposals, vow renewals, babymoons and anniversaries included. Tell us your story and we build the week around it.

Your full 7 day honeymoon itinerary
Your driver-guide welcomes you at Marrakech airport and brings you to a romantic riad in the medina, where mint tea and a rose-petal suite are waiting. Settle in, then wander out for golden hour near the Koutoubia if you feel like it.
In the evening: a private candlelit dinner on the riad rooftop, with the lights of the medina and the Atlas silhouette beyond. No better first night in Morocco.
Cross the High Atlas over the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka pass and descend to the Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou (UNESCO) — Morocco's most photogenic earthen ksar. Climb to the granary together for a view you'll both remember.
Continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of the Roses to the Dades Gorge, arriving for sunset over the rock formations. Honest note: this is the longest driving day of the week (around 6–7 hours with stops) — the scenery does the entertaining. Overnight and dinner in a boutique kasbah above the gorge.
A morning walk hand-in-hand through the Todra Gorge — 300-metre canyon walls above a palm-lined river. Then the landscape slowly turns to desert as you approach Merzouga and the great dunes of Erg Chebbi.
At golden hour, your private camel caravan carries you over the dunes to a luxury desert camp reserved for you — en-suite tent, proper bed, hot shower. Dinner under the stars, then Berber drums and firelight until you're ready to fall asleep in the silence of the Sahara.
This is the day that makes this honeymoon different: no driving anywhere. Sleep in. Have a slow breakfast looking at the dunes. Then choose your pace — a 4×4 tour around the Erg Chebbi to nomad camps and the Gnawa musicians of Khamlia village, sandboarding on the big dunes, or simply the pool and a book.
In the late afternoon, climb the high dunes for sunset with tea. A second night of firelight, music and the brightest sky you've ever shared.
Wake early (it's worth it) for sunrise over the dunes — the Sahara at its gentlest and most beautiful. After breakfast, ride or 4×4 back out of the sand and begin the scenic return west.
The route follows the oasis valleys — a stop in the Skoura palm grove and its kasbahs, and the Rose Valley when in season. Arrive in Ouarzazate for a relaxed evening and dinner at a romantic riad. A much easier driving day, split exactly so tomorrow stays light too.
Recross the Atlas by the old caravan road with a stop at the Telouet Kasbah — the half-forgotten palace of the Glaoui family, its plain mud walls hiding some of the finest zellij and painted cedar ceilings in Morocco. Far fewer visitors than anywhere else on the route; you'll likely have whole salons to yourselves.
Arrive in Marrakech mid-afternoon and check back into your riad. The evening is yours — the souks, a rooftop overlooking Jemaa el-Fna, or nothing at all.
Your last day is pure Marrakech romance. Optionally start before dawn with a hot-air balloon flight over the palm groves as the sun rises behind the Atlas (add-on — see pricing). Late morning: a private couples' hammam and spa ritual — steam, black soap, argan oil massage.
As the light turns gold, a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Palmeraie, followed by a farewell dinner in a hidden garden restaurant. Your airport transfer is timed around your flight — and if you fly out the next morning, we simply add the extra night for you.

Frequently asked questions
Is Morocco a good honeymoon destination?
One of the best. In a single week you get candlelit riads in Marrakech, palaces and gardens, dramatic gorges, and two nights in a private Sahara camp under more stars than you've ever seen — with no long-haul jet lag from Europe and excellent value compared to the Maldives or Bali. And Moroccan hospitality treats newlyweds like royalty.
How much does a Morocco honeymoon tour cost?
This 7 day private honeymoon starts from $2,690 per couple — boutique riads, a private luxury desert camp, couples' hammam and spa, candlelit dinners and all transport with your own driver-guide. Ultra-luxury upgrades are quoted on request within 24 hours.
Is this honeymoon tour fully private?
Completely. It's just the two of you the whole week — your own car, your own driver-guide, your own dates and your own pace. No groups, no strangers, no fixed departures. Even the desert-camp dinner and camel rides are arranged privately for you.
When is the best time for a Morocco honeymoon?
March–May and September–November are perfect — warm days, mild nights, comfortable in both Marrakech and the Sahara. Winter is romantic and quiet with crisp desert nights (we add extra blankets and heaters in the camp). June–August is hot in the desert; we shift activities to mornings and evenings if you travel then.
Can you arrange a proposal or vow renewal?
Yes — it's one of our favourite things to do. We arrange surprise proposals on riad rooftops or private dunes at sunset, and symbolic vow-renewal ceremonies with Berber music, flowers and photography. Tell us in the quote form and we'll plan it discreetly with you.
Can we customise or extend the itinerary?
Absolutely. Popular additions: 2–3 beach days in Essaouira or Agadir after the tour, an extra desert night, Chefchaouen in the north, or ultra-luxury riads throughout. Every honeymoon we run is tailored — tell us what you dream of.
What should we pack for a Morocco honeymoon?
Light layers, comfortable walking shoes, a warm layer for desert evenings, sunscreen and a scarf or hat. For the romantic evenings, something nicer for dinner. In winter add a proper jacket for the Sahara night. We send a full packing list with your confirmed itinerary.
How do we book — and how much is the deposit?
Message us on WhatsApp or fill the quote form. We reply within 24 hours with your full custom honeymoon itinerary and pricing. Once you're happy, a 30% deposit secures your dates. The balance is paid on arrival in cash or card.
